The short version
AmigoToolz runs 193 small utilities. Most of them need nothing from you but the text you type, and a large number never send that text anywhere at all.
We have no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising running today. We set no cookies and store nothing in your browser. We keep no record of what you convert, calculate, or look up.
If that is all you wanted to know, you can stop here. The rest of this page explains it precisely.
Who we are
AmigoToolz operates amigotoolz.com. For any question about this policy or about your personal information, contact privacy@amigotoolz.com.
What actually happens when you use a tool
Tools fall into two groups, and the difference matters more than anything else on this page.
Tools that run entirely in your browser. About a third of the catalogue — including most text, encoding, and formatting tools — execute as JavaScript on your own device. What you type is never transmitted to us. We could not see it if we wanted to. Closing the tab ends its existence.
Tools that run on our server. The rest send your input to our server, which computes an answer, returns it, and discards the input. It is not written to a database, not queued, and not logged. There is no store of past inputs because nothing writes one.
Each tool's page states which of the two it is.
What we collect
Nothing you type is retained. Every tool in the catalogue declares a retention period of "none", and that declaration is what the software is built from rather than a claim about it.
Your IP address is processed, briefly, in two places.
- Rate limiting. To stop one visitor exhausting the service for everyone, we count recent requests against a key derived from your IP address. That counter lives in memory and expires within a minute. It is never written to a database.
- The "What Is My IP" tool. This tool exists to show you your own network details, so it necessarily reads your IP address. It displays it and does not record it.
Our server logs do not identify you. We record the request method, the path, the response status, and how long it took. We do not log IP addresses, and there are no accounts to attach a request to. Logs are kept for 30 days for operational troubleshooting.
We do not collect names, email addresses, payment details, location beyond what an IP implies, or any special-category data. We have no contact list and send no marketing.
Tools that contact other services for you
Three networking tools work by making a request on your behalf, which means a third party learns that the request happened:
- DNS Lookup and DNS Propagation Checker query public DNS resolvers — Google, Cloudflare, Quad9, OpenDNS, AdGuard, and DNS.WATCH — for the domain you enter.
- HTTP Header Checker fetches the URL you enter and reports its response headers.
Those services see a request coming from our server, not from you. They do not receive your IP address. They do receive the domain or URL you asked about, so do not use these tools to look up something you would rather no third party saw.
Cookies
We currently set none. No session cookies, no analytics, no advertising, and nothing in local storage. This will change if advertising is enabled — see the Cookie Policy, which describes that state honestly and will be updated before, not after, anything is set.
Advertising
Advertising is not running. The site is built to display Google AdSense adverts, and that capability is switched off. When it is enabled:
- you will be asked for consent through Google's certified consent management platform before any advertising cookie is set;
- declining will be as easy as accepting, and the tools will work identically either way;
- this policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated first.
Who processes data for us
- Microsoft Azure — hosting, in the Canada Central region. Azure's infrastructure handles all traffic to the site.
- Cloudflare — DNS only. Our records are not proxied, so Cloudflare resolves the name amigotoolz.com and does not see your traffic.
- Google AdSense — not active. Listed because the integration exists and will become active if advertising is enabled.
We use no analytics provider, no email provider, no payment processor, and no AI provider. See the AI Policy.
Where your data goes
The service runs in Canada. Because tools retain nothing, there is no stored personal information to transfer anywhere.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to processing, or to withdraw consent.
We want to be straightforward about what those rights mean here: we hold no personal information about you to access, correct, or delete. There are no accounts and no stored inputs. A request would find nothing.
If you believe otherwise, write to privacy@amigotoolz.com and we will investigate and respond. If you are unsatisfied, you may complain to your data protection authority — in Canada the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, in Quebec the Commission d'accès à l'information, and in the EU or UK your national supervisory authority.
Children
The tools are general-purpose utilities and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Tools that fetch a URL on your behalf refuse private and internal network addresses, so they cannot be used to reach systems that are not publicly reachable. We do not describe our security arrangements in more detail here, because a public description of them would be useful mainly to someone attacking them.
Changes
We will update this page when what the site does changes, and update the date below. Material changes will be described rather than quietly folded in.
